In many cases, the end of the year gives you time to step back and take stock of the last 12 months. This is when many of us take a hard look at what worked and what did not, complete performance reviews, and formulate plans for the coming year. For me, it is all of those things plus a time when I u...
In the Spirit of Love, Lottabody® Takes On Viral #boyfriendchallenge, Surprising Couples With On-the-Spot Hair Styling Experiment
Legendary Setting Lotion Brand Launches #aLottaStyle Video Campaign to Show That Love & Lottabody® Create Amazing Hair

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Feb. 14, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Lottabody® kicks off Valentine's Day with #aLottaStyle: a social video challenge to show the amount of love and (hair) care a queen invests in styling her crown shouldn't be taken for granted. Lottabody® surprised four unsuspecting couples and invited them to participate in an impromptu styling challenge where the male counterparts would style their better halves' hair – putting the 'shoe on the other foot'.

#aLottaStyle was inspired by trending #boyfriendchallenge videos on social media where women test their significant others' capabilities by having them accomplish daily tasks that may often be overlooked and underappreciated. The spouses were equipped with only a styling tutorial video and the brand's entire collection of styling products and accessories for relaxed, natural and textured hair. With some encouragement, a few affectionate teases and touch of guidance from their significant others, the men successfully completed their challenge - gaining a well-earned appreciation for Black women's hair.

"We are finally approaching a place in society where Black women are free to celebrate every kink, coil, curl and wave without disregard or consequence," said Jolorie Williams, Vice President of Multicultural Marketing. "The discussion of our hair is slowly evolving from taboo to reverence, yet it is still often misunderstood. Our hair literally defies gravity, yet it must be handled with lots of love and care. While this video shows men experiencing the intricacies of styling their spouses' hair, our hope is that the world will gain a better understanding and respect for our crowns."

The #aLottaStyle social experiment is the third installment to the brand's award-winning "#aLotta" campaign; 2016's social experiment encouraged women to fully embrace their unique attributes and inspire others to excel despite life's obstacles, while last year's social experiment showed that great kisses and great hair can create unforgettable memories.
