Industry News Red Hat Changes Marketing Chief
Those swinging doors that grace the office of the head of marketing at Red Hat have slapped another executive in the fanny
Oct. 1, 2007 02:45 AM
Old-time Unix veteran Tim Yeaton, senior VP of marketing, has been replaced by Michael Chen, seconded over from Red Hat China, where he was general manager, to be VP of corporate marketing. He reports to CEO Matthew Szulik and will work out of Red Hat's headquarters in North Carolina. Yeaton was the fifth Red Hat marketing chief in six years when he got the job in March of '05, lasting longer than most. Chen started at Red Hat in product management in '02. Red Hat has abandoned collective product marketing, turning the function over to line-of-business units. Meanwhile, Red Hat has named two new financial executives, promoting Mark Cook to VP, finance and controller and appointing Paul Argiry VP and treasurer. Cook was treasurer and Argiry was brought in from Jabil Circuits, where he had been director of finance for mergers and acquisitions. Reader Feedback: Page 1 of 1
