Ounce Labs Supports Application Security Community Education
Participates in Leading Application Security Conference

WALTHAM, MA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 11/06/07 -- Ounce Labs, the industry leader in software risk analysis, today announced that it will participate in AppSec 2007, a leading conference for the application security community. The OWASP & WASC AppSec 2007 Conference will focus on the most common web application security problems, including the OWASP Top Ten, and will highlight hacking techniques, illustrating how easily application vulnerabilities can be exploited, so participants can eliminate such code vulnerabilities. The conference will be held in on November 12-15, 2007 at eBay facilities in San Jose, Calif.

Ounce will participate in this year's Tech Expo, where attendees can receive Ounce 5 product demonstrations and will have access to technical staff to answer in-depth questions. The technology expo will be open on Tuesday, November 13th from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, November 14th from 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Tech Expo will provide conference attendees with direct access to vendor's products and the ability to evaluate tools in a non-sales environment.

"AppSec 2007 offers a unique opportunity for security professionals, software developers, and IT managers to get up to speed on the latest attack techniques, defense strategies and industry trends in an atmosphere of peers," said Dave Wichers, OWASP Conferences Chair and COO Aspect Security. "We are pleased that Ounce shares our dedication to bringing together industry, government, and security researchers to discuss the state of the art in application security."

"We're excited to participate in this year's event, including the technology expo, because it gives participants an opportunity to ask the hard questions and talk directly with our technical consultants for insight into some of their more pressing concerns," said Claudia Dent, Senior Vice President of Product Management.. "From the company's inception, Ounce Labs has supported efforts to raise the awareness of application security in the industry by participating in events that provide security professionals high quality content and the opportunity to share their experiences with us."

Ounce Labs enables organizations to radically reduce the potential for security breaches by making it possible to identify, prioritize and eliminate application vulnerabilities across their entire software portfolio. These often-overlooked software vulnerabilities are what cyber-criminals use to gain access to customer data and other confidential business information. Ounce delivers the industry's most comprehensive support for best practices standards, including detailed reports identifying application vulnerabilities defined by the OWASP Top Ten 2007 and the CWE specification published by Mitre Corp.
