Richard Davies wrote: The UK has a good crop of technology pioneers in cloud computing - for example ElasticHosts, FlexiScale, Flexiant, OnApp - and also some strong government initiatives such as G-Cloud. We will have to see whether this kind of technical leadership converts into swift mass-market adoption or not.

In many cases, the end of the year gives you time to step back and take stock of the last 12 months. This is when many of us take a hard look at what worked and what did not, complete performance reviews, and formulate plans for the coming year. For me, it is all of those things plus a time when I u...

Panacya Service Center to Support Enterprise Messaging Systems
Panacya Service Center to Support Enterprise Messaging Systems

In order to support increasingly overburdened IT demand, Panacya has introduced Panacya Service Center for Enterprise Messaging System,  the first Panacya product designed specifically for messaging ecosystems in enterprise environments.

The system was initially designed with Microsoft Exchange-based messaging systems in mind, the company says. Panacya wanted to create end-to-end messaging visibility in real-time to help customers identify messaging patterns. By observing messaging transactions, resources can be more effectively allocated, claims the company.

Jeb Connor, CEO and Chairman of Panacya, said, "As organizations increasingly rely on robust messaging and collaboration platforms to support internal productivity and external revenue-generating activities, overstressed IT operations are coming under fire to provide a committed and measurable level of service."

What the company did is shift analytical modeling away from studying data in just certain places along the messaging path; and to take an end-to-end approach looking at the entire distributed pathway in enterprise systems. With this kind of information available, changes in network architecture can be made to accommodate a company's particular flow of messaging traffic.

"We believe Panacya Service Center's end-to-end approach can best help large- and medium-sized organizations get critical e-mail and payloads to where they should, within the time they should, to the people they should, to help drive revenue, cut costs and facilitate regulatory compliance," continued Connor.

Panacya's new Panacya Analytics Modules integrate unobtrusively in enterprise systems. The modules can be linked and deployed to each other; resulting in agent-less monitoring capability. Information gathered by the modules is provided in real-time across the messaging ecosystem, including e-mail servers, directory servers, spam- filtering and virus-blocking servers, and proxy servers.

"We believe the end-to-end approach advocated by technology providers such as Panacya is critical to effective messaging-platform management, monitoring and performance analysis." said John DiPietro, vice president of solutions of Anexinet.

He concluded, "Anexinet continues to see market demand grow for server and mail administration solutions that can help e-mail administrators ensure that messaging services are delivered seamlessly and smoothly."

With enterprise messaging now more readily available, companies see the importance of supporting these ecosystems, along with revenue generating systems. Indeed, with users relying upon and regarding e-mail as a more effective communication source, this area is fast becoming, analyst firm META noted, "a mission-critical business communication system, with emphasis on uptime, tuning, hygiene and security."
