Dec. 14, 2007 10:00 AM
Altova announced that Altova XSpyML was
named as winner of the “Best of Connections 2007” in the Office category by
Penton Media’s Windows IT Pro.
In the award’s first year, the judges reviewed over 60 IT
products and services submitted for the contest and chose 18 finalists that
were evaluated at Microsoft Connections in Las Vegas. Interviews were conducted, and
winners were announced on the exhibit floor of the Connections conference.
“With each new release, Altova continues to add unique
functionality to an already robust development tool,” said Gayle Rodcay, senior
editor for Windows IT Pro. “With extended support for Office Open XML
(OOXML) in XMLSpy 2008, users can now extract, edit, query, and transform XML
data from within Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 files. Altova’s
support for OOXML clearly demonstrates their strategic importance to the
market, competitive advantages, and the value they provide to their customers.”
“We are excited to have XMLSpy recognized by Penton Media as
a winner of the 'Best of Connections' award,” said Alexander Falk, president
and CEO for Altova. “Our support for the Office Open XML format gives XMLSpy
users the unique ability to re-use and re-purpose vast amounts of valuable
business content stored in Microsoft Office 2007 files, providing huge
advantages to business people and application developers.”
