Yahoo not only wants to be the best search engine, it also wants to help bring people together. Yahoo launched a new service that promises to offer a simpler way to keep in touch with people, marking the company's entry into social networking and blogging. A page on Yahoo's Web site invites users to sign up for a beta test of its new Yahoo 360. According to Yahoo the service is, "a simple way to keep connected to friends and family with blogs, photos and more. With Yahoo 360, you'll have one place to keep the important people in your life connected to you. And one place for you to stay connected to them." Rivals like Microsoft and Google have already made inroads in this arena which may explain Yahoo's recent move into social networking and blogging. In December, Microsoft added MSN Spaces, a blog product for its MSN Web service. Meanwhile, Google owns Web log service Blogger and social networking site Orkut. Reader Feedback: Page 1 of 1
