Moving up the stack to PaaS and SaaS the use of virtualisation may, as you say, be less required if you put lots of smarts into your software. A lot of software does not have those smarts and by utalising virtualisation of the layers below can manipulate existing software architectures to have more cloudy attributes through automation (eg run load balancers and deploy more servers automagically). Over time, as new investment in software at...

DVT Posts Record First Quarter and March '05 Results
March Over March Orders Reflect 50% Increase!

DULUTH, Ga., April 4 /PRNewswire/ -- DVT Corporation has just announced record sales for both the first quarter of 2005 as well as for the month of March, when the company realized a 50% increase in March orders over the previous year. In short, the company has had a record quarter in sales, along with its best-ever month in sales and bookings.

This extremely positive news is further enhanced by the fact that DVT has, for every year in its 13-year history, experienced robust yearly growth - even in the wake of September 11, 2001.

According to Bob Steinke, Chairman and CEO of DVT, "As a result of our extraordinary company performance, DVT is now poised to expand even faster with recently introduced products such as Intellect 1.1 software, which has a simplified user interface and is designed to be set-up and used by technicians."

"In the second quarter," Steinke continued, "DVT is introducing new products that will take us into three new markets: semiconductor, continuous web, and low-end vision. The Wafer Reader, priced very competitively at $4995, provides the traceability and real-time validation required by semiconductor manufacturers throughout the fabrication process. The Legend LS Line Scanner, priced at $5995, which works in high-resolution, high speed applications in the paper, printing, metals, plastics, medical, bottling, and textiles industries, will now include continuous web capability. On the low-end, we are going to introduce the Specialist, a new family of inexpensive, dedicated function cameras priced from $995, to be used in a host of vision inspection, reading, checking, measurement, and detection functions."

DVT attributes its continued growth and high level of success to the company's philosophy of 'Servant Leadership.' This means putting the needs of customers ahead of personal needs. Instead of asking "What's in it for me?" DVT asks our customers "How may we serve you?" Agape is a Greek term meaning Unconditional Love. DVT's Agape Support is Unconditional for its customers, who are always entitled to free classroom, online and CD-based product training, free operating software and upgrades, and free online diagnostics and troubleshooting.
