RICHARDSON, Texas, March 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Navini Networks y MegaBroadband de Massachusetts han lanzado la primera versión para su utilización a escala comercial del espectro 2.3GHz WCS en EE.UU. Navini Networks,Inc., es el proveedor líder de tecnología "non-line-of-sight" (fuera del alcance de la vista), "zero-install"(TM) (de ejecución sin instalación) y de banda ancha portátil.

"Nos alegramos mucho de ofrecer todo tipo de productos, desde sustitución de llamada a un acceso completo a banda ancha inalámbrica portátil de alta velocidad," manifestó Paul Joncas, presidente y consejero delegado de MegaBroadband. "Con los precios que ofrecemos, a los clientes les parecerá una alternativa al tradicional ADSL o al cable muy atractiva."

La red inicial de MegaBroadband contará con el apoyo de hasta 3.000 abonados, aunque tienen previsto ofrecer en el futuro los servicios a más de 10.000 en la zona. La tecnología "non-line-of-sight" (NLOS) de Navini ofrece enormes ventajas de uso y de escalabilidad para lograr dichos objetivos.

Para los clientes de MegaBroadband, el desarrollo de la gama de 2.3GHz abre la puerta a la conectividad portátil de alta velocidad, ahora a bajo precio y que próximamente incluirá VoIP.

Este lanzamiento comercial es altamente significativo dadas las limitaciones de regulación y de franja horaria que ha impuesto el FCC para esta frecuencia. Las empresas con productos de la gama de 2.3GHz WCS deberán distribuirlos para mediados de 2007 o se arriesgarán a perder los derechos de la gama WCS que tantos millones les ha costado conseguir. Se puede hacer frente a las limitaciones horarias debido a la disponibilidad actual de la tecnología.
