Joshua Alpern, vice president of sales engineering at Applimation, is leading a session on optimizing data security in test and development environments at Alliance ’08 Conference, the annual event for all higher education, government, and public sector users of Oracle applications. In the session “Optimizing Test & Development Environments,” Alpern will highlight the challenges in collecting and storing personal information, specifically in higher education and university institutions, and discuss how organizations can better protect their data and ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Participants will learn how to effectively protect these non-production environments using a proven software solution, Applimation’s Informia Secure product.

He has worked internationally in the IT industry for more than ten years, living abroad in Asia and the Middle East for five years before joining Applimation. He has a Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration from Boston University.
