We will have to see whether this kind of technical leadership converts into swift mass-market adoption or not.

In many cases, the end of the year gives you time to step back and take stock of the last 12 months. This is when many of us take a hard look at what worked and what did not, complete performance reviews, and formulate plans for the coming year. For me, it is all of those things plus a time when I u...

LogiXML Adds ETL Data Integration to Web-Based Business Intelligence Product Line
New ETL Product Expands the Unified Logi BI Platform Beyond Reporting, Dashboarding, Data Visualization and OLAP Analysis

LogiXML announced the availability of the new Logi ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) product designed to support integration of enterprise data into a consistent format to support a variety of corporate applications. The new Logi ETL product is a Web-based data integration application that can transfer data from diverse sources to multiple destinations directly, be invoked by predefined processes, including scheduling, or be triggered by application actions. Although Logi ETL is part of Logi Unified BI Platform, the product can be used independently as well.

"At LogiXML we design and build our business intelligence products for the masses of users in an organization. Logi ETL was developed from this philosophy and is based on the same four principles that apply to other LogiXML products," said LogiXML CEO and Founder, Arman Eshraghi. "The new Logi ETL Product is comprehensive and rich in functionality, easy-to-use and integrate. The product embraces XML technologies and is operationally more Web-oriented than any other ETL product in the market. Last but not least; Logi ETL is licensed and priced very cost-effectively, so any size organization can afford to use it."

The Logi ETL tool is both data-source neutral and browser independent. It works in conjunction with any OLEDB/ODBC database such as Oracle, Sybase SQL Server, IBM DB2, Sun Microsystems MySQL, MS SQL Server, MS Access, InterSystems Cache and others. Also, it connects with SOAP/REST Web services, XML data files, flat files such as CSV or Excel and other Web-based sources. Via Logi Connector Pack more data sources like Salesforce.com, Amazon SimpleDB, RSS/ATOM feeds, Google Docs, Google Spreadsheets are available to Logi ETL as well as other Logi products.

Using the same LogiXML data-layer concept as other Logi applications, Logi ETL enables intuitive and efficient custom transformation of organization data as well as creation, monitoring, scheduling and logging of ETL tasks. Like all LogiXML applications, Logi ETL was designed to embrace Internet technology and is a Web-service oriented application that allows administrators to access the ETL tool from virtually anywhere via a Web-based user interface for configuring and monitoring ETL processes.

Hi,
Well since I am not a computer programmer I am not even sure if I could even tell the difference in the difference between the what you are talking about and the ETL tools that I use. Although since the company I work for uses ETL for our data base. We use Pervasive ETL tools, since it was cheaper and seemed to fit our needs. What is the difference between Logi ETL and what we are using?
Should we have used a different company? Does low cost mean crappy programming?
