litl_phil wrote: While it's nice that Google and Acer share the vision of cloud-based computing, it's also worth noting that we at litl already have a webbook on the market (available at litl.com) that runs our own cloud-based OS. Unlike Chrome, litlOS is focused on creating a new and better web experience for the home, so we don't have the usual browser interface, we have our own innovative UI. In conjunction with easel mode (litl's inverted-V position) and our growing cohort of litl channels (special apps t...

SOA Software Announces SOA Development Governance Product
Repository Manager 6.0 Expands Federation and Graphical Governance Capabilities

SOA Software announced the availability of Repository Manager 6.0 (previously Logidex). Repository Manager 6.0 enables enterprises to understand what services and other software assets exist, where they're located and how each fits into a company's business and technical landscape. By providing a context for understanding and assessing existing software assets, Repository Manager 6.0 enables customers to rapidly develop, govern and deploy services within the SOA service lifecycle.

Repository Manager 6.0 is SOA Software's development governance platform that simplifies the creation, integration, management and promotion of enterprise assets and services throughout the complete development lifecycle. Its strong integration with leading application development environments, federation with all major run-time registries like IBM WSRR, HP SOA Systinet, and other UDDI registries, and its integration with SOA Software's Policy Manager (Workbench) enables customers from a single point of control to rapidly deploy services and other software assets within the SOA enterprise lifecycle.

Repository Manager 6.0 extends SOA Software's integrated SOA governance leadership position by adding key capabilities via expanded partner product integrations and increased governance automation flexibility. Repository Manager 6.0 enhances the governance administration user experience through the Configuration Designer, an Eclipse-based graphical development environment. Now from a single point of control users can easily govern and manage services as they progress across the service development lifecycle and provide key feedback at critical checkpoints across the service lifecycle.

This product also includes federation with TIBCO ActiveMatrix Registry, the ability to easily import ungoverned services from run-time registries and a graphical interface to configure development governance policies; further solidifying Repository Manager 6.0 as the unparalleled leader in development governance. Repository Manager 6.0 continues to make it easier than ever for developers, architects and business analysts to create and manage world-class business applications, while simultaneously increasing the business value of their service-oriented architecture.

"Enterprises are looking for vendors to provide seamless governance across the SOA lifecycle while at the same time looking for solutions that increase the visibility and feedback at various governance check points," said Brent Carlson, SVP of Technology of SOA Software. "SOA Software's expanded partner product federation allows us to deliver unprecedented development governance across the lifecycle."

Key deliverables for Repository Manager 6.0 include:

  • Policy Manager Integration
  • TIBCO ActiveMatrix Registry Federation
  • Asset Import Center Enhancements
  • Configuration Designer Plug-In
  • IBM Rational ClearCase Integration Enhancements
