ParAccel and Pentaho Partner to Deliver End-to-End Analytic Database and BI Solution Set
Partnership to Deliver a High Performance, Integrated Database Platform and BI Environment for Analytic Applications
Jun. 30, 2008 12:30 PM
ParAccel and Pentaho announced a partnership to deliver an
extremely high performance, integrated database platform and BI environment for
analytic applications. The integration of the ParAccel Analytic Database and
Pentaho's comprehensive BI suite will provide organizations with a
cost-effective, end-to-end solution for analyzing and reporting on
business-critical information at record-breaking speeds, leading to faster and
more optimized decision-making.
The ParAccel Analytic Database uses a columnar approach with
massively parallel processing and patent-pending performance techniques to
deliver performance and price-performance gains over other database management
systems. The Pentaho Open BI Suite provides a full spectrum of business
intelligence (BI) capabilities including reporting, analysis, dashboards, data
mining and data integration, and a BI platform, that have made it the world's
most popular open source BI suite.
“For BI to become more pervasive within organizations,
price-performance must continue to improve,” said Mark Madsen, president of
Third Nature, a leading IT consultancy specializing in BI and information
delivery. “At the same time, we also need to see a decrease in overall system
complexity. This partnership between ParAccel and Pentaho has the promise to
deliver a compelling analysis and reporting solution that combines extremely
high performance with ease of use and low cost,” Madsen said.
“It is a business imperative to make data available to a
wider range of knowledge workers for detailed analysis and reporting, even as
the amount of enterprise data continues to skyrocket,” said ParAccel Vice
President of Business Development Tim Milovich. “Together with Pentaho, we will
deliver a comprehensive, affordable, yet extremely high performance solution
for complex data analysis to help companies gain – or maintain – competitive
advantage through keen business insights.”
Added Erik Hoogerhuis, vice president of Business
Development at Pentaho, “Making world-class BI affordable so that more data is
available to more users in a simple, efficient manner is the Pentaho mission. The
ParAccel Analytic Database is highly complementary with the Pentaho BI suite
and will help enhance our customers' business results by delivering an extremely
fast-yet-simple database platform for analytic queries.”
