litl_phil wrote: While it's nice that Google and Acer share the vision of cloud-based computing, it's also worth noting that we at litl already have a webbook on the market (available at litl.com) that runs our own cloud-based OS. Unlike Chrome, litlOS is focused on creating a new and better web experience for the home, so we don't have the usual browser interface, we have our own innovative UI. In conjunction with easel mode (litl's inverted-V position) and our growing cohort of litl channels (special apps t...

AmberPoint Joins SAP Co-Innovation Lab
Runtime SOA Governance Company Brings End-to-End Visibility and Control to Heterogeneous Enterprise SOA Systems

AmberPoint announced that it has joined the SAP Co-Innovation Lab, where it will work with SAP to provide best practices for integrating its service-oriented architecture (SOA) runtime governance solutions with SAP enterprise services. AmberPoint intends to work with the SAP Co-Innovation Lab team to demonstrate and extend its SOA runtime governance capabilities by highlighting new use cases and scenarios, as well as identifying and sharing best practices showing how AmberPoint’s solutions complement SAP solutions.

The SAP Co-Innovation Lab is a hands-on working environment for SAP, its customers and partners to build and execute joint projects, enabling them to co-innovate new solutions to address specific customers’ needs. Using AmberPoint products, enterprises implementing services-based applications built on the SAP NetWeaver platform can realize the full potential of their flexible, standards-based systems. They can better understand system behavior, manage transactions end-to-end, and implement policies that automate performance management, remedy exceptional conditions and uphold security.

"AmberPoint has distinguished itself through the breadth of its SOA governance capabilities, its market traction and its commitment to successful partnerships,” said Andreas Weiskam, partner at SAP Ventures. "The SAP Co-Innovation Lab will showcase AmberPoint's innovative product development in support of SAP NetWeaver and other platforms, underscoring the significant benefits AmberPoint solutions bring to our mutual customers."

AmberPoint’s participation in the SAP Co-Innovation Lab builds on a close relationship with SAP AG that has steadily grown for years.

In September 2006, AmberPoint announced a cooperative development agreement with SAP to bring out-of-the-box management capabilities to organizations running Java and ABAP services on SAP NetWeaver

  • SAP Ventures has invested in AmberPoint
  • SAP and AmberPoint have secured numerous shared enterprise customers

AmberPoint brings greater visibility and control to enterprise SOA on SAP NetWeaver. Its SOA runtime governance solutions integrate with the following SAP solutions:

  • The SAP NetWeaver Application Server component
  • Services registry
  • Web service endpoints to and from the SAP NetWeaver Process Integration offering

“The SAP Co-Innovation Lab reduces integration costs by providing customers and partners the opportunity to ensure the success of multi-vendor enterprise SOA initiatives in a production-like environment,” said Gary Rinedollar, AmberPoint vice president of Business Development. “Our work with SAP and other partners in the SAP Co-Innovation Lab will help organizations prove out the value of their heterogeneous enterprise SOA landscapes.”
