Akorri Awarded U.S. Government-Wide GSA/FAS Contract for Information Technology Software
Jul. 28, 2008 04:15 PM
Akorri announced that it has been awarded a GSA/FAS Schedule
70 Contract, GS-35F-0497U, for general purpose commercial Information
Technology equipment, software, and services by the U.S. General Services
Administration (GSA).
The GSA Contract, which represents Akorri's continued
momentum in the government market, makes it easier for U.S. federal
government as well as all state and local agencies to procure BalancePoint
virtualization performance management software.
"We are pleased to have successfully achieved
certification through GSA's rigorous process, and look forward to helping government
agencies at every level simplify management and optimize performance, capacity
and utilization in their data center," said Tom Joyce, CEO of Akorri.
"BalancePoint will help government IT organizations obtain a holistic view
of data center infrastructure -- across both physical and virtual, and server
and storage resources -- as well as receive detailed monitoring and analysis
that will resolve performance problems faster, improve server and storage
utilization, and help plan for future growth."
The GSA is a centralized system for delivery of products and
services for the U.S.
federal government. The GSA manages more than one-fourth of the U.S.
Government's total procurement dollars and influences the management of $500
billion in federal assets. For more information go to: www.gsa.gov.
