DataServices World 2008 West: Ken North to Present on The Shape of IT to Come
North will give session on "Information Retrieval, Data Sharing and Cheap Computing: Hindsight and Foresight"

Ken North will be giving a breakout session at SYS-CON's upcoming DataServices World 2008 West in which he will cover everything from software-as-a-service, rich Internet applications, and information servers, to cloud computing, data services and integration services. He will endeavor to explain the key concepts and issues that are currently shaping the direction of the computing and software industry, including the concept of "data services" - the multiple issues around architecture and technology solutions for accessing, integrating and processing data from multiple sources while guaranteeing security and scalability.



North, who is a consultant, software developer, author, speaker and industry analyst - and also Chair of SYS-CON's DataServices World - will provide a perspective on information retrieval, structured and unstructured data, SQL and XML, Service-Oriented Architecture, Web-Oriented architecture (WOA), data access middleware and data integration.

He will also provide an update on the Mustang Index.

DataServices World West 2008, being held November 20 in San Jose, California, at the 14th International SOA World Conference & Expo, has a lineup of speakers headlined by Dr Mike Carey (pictured), one of the 50 Most Influential Computer Scientists in the world. The lineup also includes experts from Adobe, Yahoo!, IBM, Oracle, Salesforce.com, m2mi, and DataDirect Technologies.
