Richard Davies wrote: The UK has a good crop of technology pioneers in cloud computing - for example ElasticHosts, FlexiScale, Flexiant, OnApp - and also some strong government initiatives such as G-Cloud. We will have to see whether this kind of technical leadership converts into swift mass-market adoption or not.

Local Insurer Adds Punch to Philabundance's Fight Against Poverty

PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Infinity Insurance announced a special food drive partnership to benefit Philabundance (www.Philabundance.org) today. Infinity will operate seven drop off locations for canned goods throughout the Pennsylvania region starting Monday, November 17th and continuing through December 16, 2008. Commitments of resources and manpower from companies like Infinity provide critical support in the fight against poverty. An estimated 25% of Philadelphians continue to struggle below the poverty line and people receiving hunger relief in the Delaware Valley has more than doubled from 2000-2005*.

"People everywhere are struggling to pay their bills and put food on the table and many are not getting by," said Martha Buccino, Sr. VP. Strategic Development, Philabundance. "Philabundance is feeling the pinch, as we face a serious food shortage, so we must turn to charitable area businesses like Infinity to hold food drives, which help put the much needed food into the hands of the people in need."
