Richard Davies wrote: The UK has a good crop of technology pioneers in cloud computing - for example ElasticHosts, FlexiScale, Flexiant, OnApp - and also some strong government initiatives such as G-Cloud. We will have to see whether this kind of technical leadership converts into swift mass-market adoption or not.

Dalbey Foundation Celebrates Four-Year Commitment to Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver

William E. Cope Boys & Girls Clubhouse to Receive $75,000 Annually

DENVER, Dec. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Over 850 members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver will benefit from the Dalbey Foundation's four-year commitment to sponsor the William E. Cope Branch Clubhouse. The Foundation's sponsorship supports and funds continued programs and operations of the Cope Branch, located at 808 Inca Street in Denver.

The 20,000-square foot facility offers area children between ages 6 and 18 a safe and fun environment to learn life skills, make friends and foster creativity and citizenship through a variety of programs. These programs are funded by the support of individuals, foundations and organizations committed to helping young people in the community.

On Thursday, December 18, 2008 at 5:00pm, a Holiday Party at the Clubhouse will celebrate the new sponsorship. The event features the official sign hanging ceremony recognizing the Dalbey Foundation as the Clubhouse's new sponsor, followed by the children's annual holiday auction and dinner.

Also part of the festivities will be a special presentation of "club" bicycles by Russ Dalbey, Founder of the Dalbey Foundation and CEO of Dalbey Education of Westminster, CO. Dalbey is a former world-record holding cyclist, motivational speaker and entrepreneur.

"Giving children the best possible start provides a foundation for success in life. And the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver does that for its kids," said Dalbey. "As someone who was fortunate to receive mentoring when I needed it, this is a cause near to my heart. I am grateful the Dalbey Foundation is able to offer this level of support."

In addition to the financial support pledged from the Dalbey Foundation, a volunteer participation program by Dalbey Education's employees will support the Boys & Girls Club themes of developing academic success, character, citizenship and healthy lifestyles with ongoing participation in afterschool programs.

"Investing in the success of young people is one of the best ways to change lives and build strong communities," said John Arigoni, President and CEO, Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver. "We value our partnership with the Dalbey Foundation and look forward to working together to change the lives of children and teens who might otherwise be forgotten."
