JasperSoft announced the opening of its new European headquarters in Dublin, Ireland. The Dublin office will support business operations for all of Europe, a market that today includes more than one third of the company's customers. With engineering and development facilities already in Romania and Italy, JasperSoft has hired additional developers, sales representatives and technical services personnel to support and extend its strong European engineering team.
"We're excited to see JasperSoft expand its presence in Europe, providing users with more support, service and open source BI product offerings," said B.J.W.G. van Rooij, a development engineer at Planon, a Netherlands-based provider of integrated workplace management technology. "We have created our own GUI on top of JasperReports to help us internationalize our business and increase our revenue. We look forward to more tutorials and webinars in Europe and think the European open source community will have more of a connection to JasperSoft now."
Originally founded and developed in Europe, JasperReports is the world's most popular embeddable open source Java reporting library, with more than 1.7 million downloads. JasperReports is part of the JasperIntelligence suite, which also includes robust interactive query and reporting tools, report servers, and data analysis server products. JasperIntelligence is available in open source and commercial editions.
"We are very happy to establish a European headquarters in Ireland," said Teodor Danciu, creator and lead committer of JasperReports. "Europe is very interested in open source solutions because they are easy to use, very customizable, and cost-effective. JasperSoft's increased presence here will help facilitate delivering open source BI to everyone."
"Our new office in Ireland will bring us closer to European customers who have fueled our open source development from the beginning," said Paul Doscher, CEO of JasperSoft. "We are excited to now have a European headquarters so that we can meet the demand of our European customers and partners and continue developing our market-leading open source BI suite."
